Chess Club

We welcome the first 40 students in Grades 1st through 4th to the Julia Green Chess Club (JGCC). No matter your child’s skill or experience level, this club is right for them. The club is being brought to us by the Nashville Chess Center (NCC). JGCC will be held on Thursdays from 3:05-4:05 p.m. Registration is $175 for the entire year per child.  Register at:

Creative Club

Mrs. Sylvia McKissack (Crisp) has been an Art Specialist with MNPS for over 10 years and an artist since birth. Creative Club will meet on Thursdays from 3-4:15 p.m. and is open to students in grades 1-4 (and currently accepting K students starting in January) During Creative Club, we will discover novel ways to think, learn, and do; use original ideas to solve problems; connect and create with the community; express thoughts and feelings through exhibitions. Games Galore

Join Mrs. Driscoll and Mrs. Langdon for Games Galore where a student’s job is to play games! We will learn outdoor games, board games, card games, logic games, dice games, and even solve mind-bending puzzles. Each week will be packed full of fun while kids are practicing following directions, problem solving, cooperation, and critical thinking. We can’t wait to let the games begin!

Guitar & Violin Club

**Now Accepting New Students**

The Julia Green Guitar and Violin Club is a fun and inspiring place for your child! In this high energy class with all levels of talent, students in Kindergarten-4th grade receive an excellent introduction on each instrument. Instruction includes the foundational skills and techniques with elementary to intermediate songs. All children also receive one-on-one assistance within the large group setting. Join us for our annual holiday recital and spring recital!  Club meetings are after school every Tuesday from 3-3:45 pm.

Nashville Theatre School

NTS is excited to offer an after-school musical theatre class for 2nd-4th graders.  There will be two semester-based programs during the 2019-20 school year.  A performance will take place at the end of each semester.

Ukulele Club

Come join the ukulele jam session every Thursday from 3:15-4:15 p.m.  Mrs. Riley will teach new chords and techniques not covered in music class.  Club members will participate in a holiday and end-of-year program.  The cost is $30 per month.

Wonderful Wednesdays and Thrilling Thursdays

Wonderful Wednesdays and Thrilling Thursdays are after school clubs open to kindergarten and 1st grade students.  The clubs meet once a week on Wednesdays or Thursdays from 3-4 p.m.  Ms. Henderson and Ms. Langhi (both kindergarten teachers at JG) will provide fun and exciting games, art projects, seasonal activities, and outside play.  Sessions run throughout the year (Session 1: August 28-Oct 3, Session 2: Oct 16-Nov 21, Session 3: Jan 22-March 12, Session 4: March 25-May 7).  The cost is $150 per session or $300 for both days.  A light snack is provided.  Reserve your child's spot:
